to Oakton Patriots Cricket Club
The Oakton Patriots Cricket Club (OPCC) was founded in year 1996 and formed by a group of cricketing enthusiasts student from Chicago area who love playing the game in all its glory. Initially set out to play social cricket the club grew rapidly.
All Members of the club were students at Oakton Community College (OCC). From 1996-2000 we played our cricket on tennis ball and some times with hardball every weekends at the Apollo School playground. But in 2000 the players decided to play with hardball and our club took part in the Glenside Cricket League Championships for the first time in 2000,
and managed to make it to the semi-finals in that year. The OPCC motto was "Rookies, by chance, but no pushovers in the game" and we looked to play hard but fair.
